We love our piggyback

We have a 2008 vista stroller. With an active 3 year old and a 1 year old, i am so happy we bought the piggyback. When the baby was born last year I bought the rumble seat for my then 2 year old. We used it, but he did not like being so confined. So I bought the piggyback and he just loves it. It's like an amusement park ride for him. We have definitely gotten our money's worth, and I wish I bought this accessory first. I've not had any issues with it interfering with the brake or my child stepping on the brake, though I can see that stepping on it is very possible. I am 5'8" and don't usually kick the piggyback while walking normally. I can see it potentially being in the way for someone taller, but for me it certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker. you just have to be mindful.
I also have to tell you how well the piggyback flexes with the ground. I have actually let my son stay on the piggyback while going up or down curbs and amazingly, this thing just glides over everything, always staying parallel to the ground. Just make sure to tell your child to hold onto the side bars of the stroller for safety. We make it like a game and he usually giggles the whole time.
My least favorite thing is that it makes the stroller very clunky. I mean, it's already a large stroller! Though you can fold the stroller with it on (if the toddler seat is facing forward), I choose to remove it before folding the stroller, since we don't need it every time we use the stroller. It pops on and off pretty quick.
You do need to pull the handlebar all the way out for your child's head to fit under the bar. My 3 yr old has always been in the 90th percentile for head size and we haven't had issues. Yes, he bonked the back of his head on the handlebar a couple times at first (nothing major), but they figure out how to balance pretty quick. Good for their abs. ;-)
Warning: Stepping on the basket is now a temptation for your older child since it is right in front of them when they're riding the piggyback. Be sure to tell them before the first ride not to step there, as it will break! There are two plastic pieces holding the basket frame together, and both of ours snapped when our son stepped on the basket. So now the basket flops down, though is still usable. I called Uppababy to ask about replacement parts and was told these pieces could not be replaced. I would have to replace the entire frame for $250! No thanks. We will finagle something to hold the frame together. Just be forwarned.
We went to the zoo a couple weeks ago and i overheard a handful of people comment on our stroller, envious that my child was happily riding away and they were dealing with cranky kids who didnt want to walk anymore! I consider this an essential product if you have a vista stroller with more than 1 child.

Better Than a Bugaboo!

I must say that having three children, this stroller w/piggy board has been a sanity saver. I had the bugaboo stroller with my first and when my second was born I bought the ride on board. They are 19mos apart. My kids have both done extremely well riding on the boards, but the Uppa's board is better to push walking behind the stroller as you are suppose to do. However, like another reviewer has mentioned, you do end up kicking the boards (Uppa not as much as the Buggaboo). I just prefer the Uppa stroller overall. Especially, when my third was born 3.5 years after my second. I love the way, both my older kids could ride on the board, neatly contained in between the handle. That way, I was able to move swiftly through crowded sidewalks during parades and festivals with ease. Going in and out of stores is easy as well as paroozing the isles with all of my kids in front of me where I can see them and talk to them as we walk. I LOVE THIS STROLLER!!!

I've been using the ride-on board for the last 5 months and I love it - no complaints! I have a now 5-month old and a 4-year-old.
UBV customer service told me that I wouldn't be able to use it w/the bassinet so I was disappointed but I tried it and you CAN use the board with the bassinet no problems! The handle extends out and my 4-year-old rides very comfortably inside the handlebar with the bassinet or toddler seat. One review complained that his son would hit the back of his head on the handlebar...my daughter is about 42 inches and we haven't had this issue. The handlebar is soft so I suppose she's been learning her head on it sometimes but it doesn't bother her at all. She weighs 50lbs and the weight seems very evenly distributed. The ride is very smooth and I also use it to walk around the local park trail that is a 2.5 mile loop...it is kind of loud on the gravel but it's still a smooth ride.
I also love the little clip that comes w/it so I can put the board up when not in use which is handy for walks and the malls when my 4-year-old hops on and off. You can also fold the stroller w/the board still attached. I've had a lot of parents stop and ask me about the board and I always tell them how much I love it. My husband who didn't understand why I needed to get a new stroller with the board is now completely sold on both and loves the Vista and piggyback board.
